Falsh animatorz, this is our collaborative tribute to Jim Davis and his hilarious, lasagna-munching cat, Garfield!
The Plan: Everyone selects a different Garfield comic, then animates it in a different style and/or genre and with any other tweaks and twists that would qualify it as a parody and not outright copyright infringement.
An example of this would be "Lasagna Cat", with its live-action cosplay sitcom interpretations of Garfield strips. (Following them up with related Garfield music videos as Lasagna Cat does would not be necessary for this collab, but such extensions on a strip are 100% acceptable.)
All levels of artistic competence are eligible for this collab - as long as it's animated and some resemblance to the original comic is evident! The closing date for submissions is flexible, but Christmas is a good cut-off date if there are still outstanding submissions by then.
All the animations will then be compiled into one SWF and put on several sites on the interwebs (including Newgrounds) where the magic of viral social media will make it arrive on Jim Davis' computer and he will laugh, as he has made us laugh so heartily over the years.
